Robbers forced clerks to open safe at gunpoint

MANVEL, Texas – Two men are on the run after authorities say they robbed a discount store in Manvel.

According to the Manvel Police Department, the men who robbed a Dollar General at 19419 Morris Avenue on Tuesday at 10:26 p.m.

Police said the black men waited until the clerks were walking out after closing and forced them back into the store at gunpoint.

The robbers forced the clerks to open the safe where the daily deposits were kept. They then stole the store deposits, personal items from the clerks and various items from the store, police said.

The robbers are described as black men ranging from late teens to early 20s.

Police said there may have been a third assailant who was driving the getaway vehicle.
