2 men sought after hardware store robbed, employee attacked with machete

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – Deputies are searching for two men who robbed a north Harris County hardware shop July 16 and injured an employee with a machete.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office said a white man walked into JEDS Hardware in the 5400 block of Aldine Mail Road around 12:45 p.m. and began loading items into a cart, but when he neared the front of the store, he ran out to a Ford Ranger pickup truck that was awaiting him.

Deputies said three employees attempted to stop the man, and were able to grab him, but he pushed his way past the people trying to detain him.

That employee jumped in the bed of the truck and the driver reversed the truck, knocked down the other two employees and drove off.

Deputies said the man who was struck by the machete was taken to an area hospital in good condition, while the other two men were treated at the scene for minor injuries.

The man who burglarized the store is described as 5 feet 3 inches to 5 feet 4 inches tall and about 220 pounds. He was wearing a black T-shirt and shorts.
