Caring for a loved one? Here’s how male caregivers can find support at the AARP Men Who Care Conference

HOUSTON – Caring for a parent, spouse or another loved one can bring big decisions, new responsibilities and questions about where to turn for help. For men balancing caregiving with work, family and their own well-being, having the right guidance can make a difference.

The AARP Men Who Care Conference aims to connect male caregivers with practical advice, helpful resources and others who understand the experience.

Jennifer Barrera Wandrey, associate state director of outreach and advocacy for AARP Texas, and Eddie Orum, founder of Men Who Care, discuss how the conference helps caregivers navigate challenges ranging from financial and legal planning to dementia care and mental wellness.

The conference also makes room for connection and a little laughter. Comedian Jesus Trejo, who draws on his own experience as a caregiver, will deliver the keynote address, bringing humor and a personal perspective to the challenges caregivers face.

The free Men Who Care Conference takes place Nov. 7 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Kingdom Builders’ Center, 6011 W. Orem Drive in Houston. Registration is required by Nov. 6. Click here to sign up.
