Calling all book lovers: Houston indie bookstore crawl returns for its third year of literary adventure

Running April 1–30, the citywide crawl invites readers to explore independent bookstores

HOUSTON – The Houston Indie Bookstore Crawl is back for a third year—making it a true trilogy for book lovers across the city.

What began as a grassroots effort three years ago by Dara Landry, co-owner of CLASS Bookstore, has grown into a citywide celebration of independent bookstores. This year, the event includes 31 bookstores across the Greater Houston area, with new locations added in communities such as Katy, Cypress, La Porte, and Friendswood.

Here’s how you can take part in Houston’s literary adventure.

From April 1–30, readers can explore the city’s independent bookstore scene at their own pace. To get started, simply stop by any participating bookstore and pick up a bingo card. As you visit each shop, be sure to have your card stamped—no purchase is required.

After visiting at least 15 bookstores, participants can submit their completed card at their final stop to be entered into a raffle. Those who choose to complete the full card can earn additional bonus entries toward prizes.
