Lunar New Year events across Houston celebrate the Year of the Horse

The promotion honors the Lunar New Year tradition of gifting red envelopes โ€” symbols of luck, prosperity, and new beginnings (Haii Keii)

From Chinatown to Memorial Park, Lunar New Year events across Houston are welcoming the Year of the Horse with performances, festivals and family-friendly activities.

Haii Keii: Haii Keii is celebrating Lunar New Year on Tuesday, Feb. 17 with a red envelope giveaway offering $25 gift cards per table while supplies last. Guests can enjoy the restaurantโ€™s full dinner menu, including sushi and steak favorites, during the holiday celebration.

Loro (Heights & Kirby): Loro is celebrating Lunar New Year with a limited-time Pork Bossam Family Meal, available Feb. 16 through March 1 at its Heights and Kirby locations. The $45, dine-in-only meal serves 3โ€“4 people, and $1 from each order will be donated to the Asian Pacific American Heritage Association.

Live at Live Oak at Memorial Park: Live at Live Oak will celebrate Lunar New Year with a free outdoor concert on Saturday, Feb. 21, featuring performances by Unity Dragon and Lion Dance Troupe and Mikaโ€™s Yoyos. The event runs from 4โ€“6 p.m. at the Clay Family Eastern Glades and includes live music, dance, food trucks and family-friendly activities.

Bonchon Korean Fried Chicken: Bonchon is celebrating Lunar New Year on Feb. 17 with a limited-time deal: five wings for $5, no minimum purchase required. The offer is available in-store, online at bonchon.com , and through the Bonchon app while guests ring in the Year of the Horse.

Ocean Palace: Ocean Palace will host a series of Lunar New Year dragon and lion dance performances throughout February, including events on Feb. 21, Feb. 22, and Feb. 28, featuring multiple dance troupes.

HiFi at The Finn: HiFi at The Finn partners with FireNoodz for a one-night-only Lunar New Year dinner featuring a four-course themed food and beverage experience from 7โ€“8:30 p.m. The collaboration highlights chef-driven dishes inspired by the diverse culinary concepts inside The Finn.

River Oaks District (Tuesday, Feb. 17): Celebrate the Year of the Horse with a traditional Platform Dragon Dance by Leeโ€™s Golden Dragon at 4 p.m. in The Park next to Bari. The public performance features music, movement, and ceremonial artistry honoring Lunar New Year traditions.

The Galleria: The Galleria, in partnership with Asia Society Texas, is hosting free Lunar New Year festivities celebrating the Year of the Horse on Feb. 21โ€“22. Guests can enjoy arts and crafts, games, and festive performances throughout the weekend.

Fort Bend Childrenโ€™s Discovery Center: Families can celebrate the Year of the Horse on Feb. 21 with interactive Lunar New Year activities, crafts, and a zodiac-themed storybook opera experience.

River Oaks District (Saturday, Feb. 21):River Oaks District continues its Lunar New Year celebration from 2โ€“5 p.m. with complimentary boba, Lunar New Yearโ€“inspired cocktails from Azumi, origami activities, photo moments, and a High Pole (Jong) performance at 3 p.m.
