Want a Valentine’s Day wedding without the Valentine’s Day price tag? Sugar Land is offering a free mass wedding event in the middle of Town Square.

The city’s “From Sugar Land, With Love” event is scheduled for Feb. 14, with Sugar Land Municipal Court Judge Matthew Montes set to officiate weddings for the first 100 couples who sign up.

Couples can expect a party atmosphere with music, cake, balloons, and a photographer on site.

“Marriage is one of life’s most important milestones, and I am proud to help couples celebrate that moment here in Sugar Land,” said Judge Montes. “From Sugar Land, With Love reflects the heart of our city—welcoming, inclusive, and committed to creating lasting memories for all who call Sugar Land home.”

Couples must RSVP in advance by registering here. They also must obtain a valid Texas marriage license at least 72 hours before the ceremony and bring the license with them on the day of the event.

Ceremonies are expected to be brief, similar to a courthouse wedding, typically lasting about 20 minutes. There is no official dress code, and couples can wear anything from casual outfits to formal attire. The event is open to anyone, not just Sugar Land or Fort Bend County residents.
