Houston – Actor Patrick Duffy stopped by Kroger on Buffalo Speedway on Tuesday to celebrate the launch of Duffy’s Dough, a new take-and-bake sourdough line with a mission behind it. Houston Life’s Melanie Camp was there as they discussed the bread and its philanthropic mission.
The product comes from a 70-year-old family starter that was passed down through Duffy’s mother, and he and partner Linda Purl turned the tradition into a way to help others.
Every penny of profit from Duffy’s Dough goes to hunger-relief efforts across the country. During their Houston visit, Duffy, Purl, and Kroger teamed up with Interfaith Ministries to donate $10,000 to support Meals on Wheels and help deliver food to local seniors.
Shoppers can now find Duffy’s Dough sourdough loaves and baguettes on Kroger shelves, along with recipe ideas perfect for holiday brunch spreads. Duffy and Purl will host additional meet-and-greets this week for fans who want to say hello and get a taste of the new line.
