From Houston to Hollywood: Former news anchor appears in new Tyler Perry thriller
HOUSTON – Former Houston news anchor Shannon Lanier is comfortable sitting at a news desk, so it’s no surprise he’s comfortable in his latest role portraying a news anchor in the new Tyler Perry thriller ‘Duplicity ,’ streaming now on Amazon Prime.
Lanier says Perry himself called to offer him the role, an opportunity he couldn’t pass up.
“After I picked myself up off the floor, he basically said he saw me on television and I inspired a character in his new movie,” said Lanier of the phone call that caught him off-guard.
