Houston – The bi-annual event is back! The Bayou City Art Festival returned to Memorial Park over the weekend.
The city’s largest park will transformed into a vibrant outdoor gallery showcasing the works of over 250 artists showcasing their work, this event continues to attract attendees with its mix of creativity, live entertainment, and family-friendly activities.
The festival is more than just a place to view art—it’s a community experience. With interactive art zones, food trucks, and live music performances, there’s something for everyone. Nonprofits like the Museum of Fine Arts and The Health Museum have partnered with the event to provide activities for kids. Additionally, the event supports five local nonprofits, ensuring that art is accessible to all and serves a greater purpose also in the community.
This year’s featured artist, Ash Beheshti, drove 1,600 miles from Los Angeles to be the first artist attendees will see when they enter the park. Known for his mixed media collages celebrating the female form, Beheshti’s work blends realism with spiritual symbolism.
Behesti and Wendi Meisberger, the festival’s artist relations manager joined us on Houston Life with what to expect at the three-day event.
