Local Texas country superstar Cody Jinks gears up for RodeoHouston debut performance

HOUSTON – You may describe Cody Jinks’ music as “outlaw country,” or even “red dirt” country…but Cody himself is anything but an outlaw.

He’s one of the most talented Texas boys to take the start-entertainer stage at RodeoHouston this year, and it just so happens to be his big rodeo debut.

Hailing from Halton City, Texas (just outside of Fort Worth,) Cody is no stranger to the music industry.

He started to learn how to play the guitar from his dad when he was 16, but jumped into metal music first.

Around 2005 he started playing country music, the music he grew up with…and well, the rest is history.

Cody will take the RodeoHouston stage tonight in front of over 70,000 fans, one of his biggest to date.

Watch as Lauren Kelly chats with Cody ahead of his big rodeo performance, and how he’s getting ready for it.
