Celebrate Black History Month with Black Cowboy Legacy Rodeo

FORT BEND COUNTY – The 4th Annual Black Cowboy Legacy Rodeo celebrates Black History Month by honoring the legacies of Black Cowboys and Educators in Fort Bend County.

Grab your boots and your hat! The Rodeo is set to take place Saturday February 11th. The Fort Bend History Association and the Rodeo Committee invite the entire community to join and celebrate at George Ranch Historical Park!

There will be live entertainment, food, arts and craft vendors, and the Rodeo competition including ‘Mutton-Bustin’ for the kids!

All kids activities are provided by Richmond’s YMCA.

Ms. Debra Greenwood-Sharp, board member of the Fort Bend History Association and Founder of the Black Cowboy Legacy Rodeo spoke to us today about the annual event, what to expect during live entertainment, and how to register to compete in the competition.

Event details:

The 4th Annual Black Cowboy Legacy Rodeo: Saturday, Feb.11 at the George Ranch Arena.

Gates open at 4:00p.m.

Located at 10215 FM 762 Richmond, TX.

General Admission is $20 for adults and $10 for children (ages 4-12)

Advantage seating is $35 for adults and $15 for children (ages 4-12) and includes a bird’s eye view of the rodeo competition.

Food voucher with $3 off from a food vendor, and a free admission to either the Fort Bend Museum or George Ranch Historical Park

At 6:30p.m., all attendees can enjoy the Grand Entry Parade, followed by Rodeo showtime at 7:00p.m.
