Houston rapper Mark Drew goes viral for repping the Astros
HOUSTON – Houston Life chats with local rapper and producer Mark Drew. He went viral this week for his Astros-themed remix of the Jay Z and Alicia Keys song ‘Empire State of Mind.’
He shares the story behind his version which started as an impromptu remix. But after it gained traction on TikTok, he turned it into a song that’s hyping Astros fans ahead of the World Series.
Check out his interview in the video above where he spoke about how the updated tune has caught the attention of ALCS MVP Jeremy Peña.
