KPRC 2 Pet Project: Meet Waya, the well-mannered Pitbull mix who’s a giant cuddle bug

5-year-old Waya may look like a tough pup, but once you warm up to him, he is the biggest cuddle bug you’ll ever meet.

Waya (pronounced like Maya), a Pitbull-Terrier mix, came to Houston Humane Society in April as an owner surrender, according to volunteers. He is well-mannered who knows tricks such as sit, stay, and paw.

Volunteers say Waya does best in a home with other dogs to play with to burn off some of his energy.

Meet Waya at the Houston Humane Society, located at 14700 Almeda Rd. in southwest Houston, open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. If you’re interested in welcoming Waya into your home, you can jump-start the adoption process by filling out this form.

KPRC 2 Pet Project follow-up: Chubs

Chubs with his new adopters (KPRC)

In September, we met Chubs, the kitty with a heart of gold.

Chubs can finally turn that smile back where it belongs because he found his forever home! He was more than ready to jump in that kennel and head on home when his adopters came for him.
