Voters across Fort Bend County headed to the polls Tuesday, March 26, 2026, for the Texas Primary Runoff Elections to decide several Democratic nominees for key county offices after no candidate secured a majority vote during the March primary election.
Runoff races in Fort Bend County included the Democratic nominations for Fort Bend County Judge, Fort Bend County Clerk and Fort Bend County Treasurer. The winners of Tuesday’s runoff elections will advance to the November general election.
The Fort Bend County Judge position oversees the county’s Commissioners Court and county administration, while the county clerk manages public records and election-related duties. The county treasurer is responsible for overseeing county funds and financial operations.
Polling places are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Election Day, while early voting for the runoff election was held March 16–22.
Under Texas election law, voters who participated in one party’s primary election earlier this month were required to vote in the same party’s runoff election.
