Best thing since sliced bread: This guide to celebrate National Sandwich Day in Houston area

HOUSTON – This Saturday is National Sandwich Day, and several eateries are offering promotions to celebrate the event. 

Here are a few restaurants with tasty ways to save on a celebratory sandwich.

Jersey Mike's Subs: November is “National Sub Month” for Jersey Mike’s. The company is hosting a social media contest Monday through Thursday each week and giving away prizes on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

McAlister's Deli: Score a $4 McAlister’s Club sandwich and a free drink at participating locations.

Schlotzsky's: Score a buy one, get one free deal on all medium sandwiches this Saturday. 

Smashburger: This deal isn’t for National Sandwich Day, but it should be – the restaurant is selling Smash Passes for $100 through Sunday. Subway is donating a meal to Feeding America on National Sandwich Day (also World Sandwich Day) with each purchase made on its app and website. The offer to help give back runs from Saturday through Nov. 9.

Firehouse Subs: You can get a free medium sub when you purchase a medium or large sub, drink and chips. Be sure to show this coupon to get the deal. You can also print or show on your smartphone to redeem.

Mancuso Harley-Davidson Central in Houston is offering the opportunity to eat part of a 12-foot-long sandwich on Saturday at their North Loop location.
