As Seen on TV Tuesday: Testing the Draw Jammies

Kids love toys. Parents love activities that keep them busy. When you find product that combines the two, it might just be magic.

Draw Jammies are for kids 3-years-old and up. We recruited Channel 2 News Director Rhonda Lavelle's daughter, Kendall, whose just shy of 4, to test the product. She was excited to make her masterpiece on the PJ's. Draw Jammies cost $19.99 and come with one pair of pajamas, 6 scented markers, 3 glow pens and stencils.

In the commercial, kids are creating crisp, colorful designs and pictures, and having a blast doing it! In real life, as you might imagine, it's hard to draw on fabric.
The markers bled, making Kendall's stenciled snowflake looked more like a flower. The glow pens squirted out on goopy glops.

Kendall grew tired of Draw Jammies in about 15 minutes.

"I probably would not recommend it for someone 3 to 4," explained Rhonda.  "But probably maybe 6 to 7 year-olds for like a pajama party or something, it could be pretty fun."

If that's your plan, make sure you give the pj's plenty of time to dry before the kids want to wear them. The paint on Kendall's pajamas was still wet after 20 minutes.

Draw Jammies claims the designs wash away in the washing machine so kids can start over with a clean slate. Our pajamas did come out of the machine clean, but Kendall had no desire to draw on them again.
