Wednesday

Late week changes:

This is Houston in September, so this crisp cooler weather won’t last long.

Highs are forecast to reach 92 degrees on Wednesday before climbing to 94 degrees on Thursday, and conditions will turn noticeably “stickier” as humidity increases.

Tropical Outlook:

No tropical development is expected in the Atlantic over the next week — a noteworthy break, considering we’re sitting at the statistical peak of hurricane season on September 10. Historically, this week is when the basin is most active, with the greatest number of storms on record forming around this date.

Quiet across the Atlantic

Given that we are nearly at the peak of hurricane season, it is remarkable that we’re relatively quiet in the Atlantic Basin. However, we’ll keep a watch on the boundary that is sitting in the Gulf.

Nothing to worry about now but some long-range models are looking to spin up a weak open low pressure system by the end of the week. We’ll keep a watch on it.

Your extended forecast:

Afternoon highs will stay warm, in the upper-80s to low-90s, but sunshine dominates the forecast through the week. If you want to soak up this taste of fall, mornings are your best bet before the summer stickiness makes its comeback.

Temperatures and dewpoints will be on the rise again. Expect highs in the mid 90s by the end of the week. However, we’ll stay rain free for the entirety of the 10-day forecast!
