Monday’s forecast:
Your umbrella will be a necessity this week as scattered storm and shower chances increase. Monday can expect coastal morning showers with coverage increasing inland through the afternoon and evening, which may lead to slow-downs during commute hours.
The reason rain chances increase is due to high pressure moving east away from Texas. Without the high pressure, there will be no sinking air to dry out the atmosphere. Instead, a return of moisture from the Gulf moves in.
The dry air will be focused across the eastern half of the country, leading to record-breaking temperatures in the northeast.
Tracking the tropics:
We’re now watching a trough of low pressure 500 miles east-southeast of Bermuda. Right now, disorganized showers and thunderstorms. This system is expected to move NE over the central Atlantic during the next couple of days. 20% formation for both 48 hours and 7 days.
Your 10-Day Forecast:
Temperatures are a few degrees cooler than average, in the upper 80s to low 90s, with warm morning lows. Expect scattered showers and thunderstorms through Friday.
