LIVE RADAR: Heavy thunderstorms move in again this morning, flood threat until 4 p.m. Flood Watch for Liberty, Harris, Chambers, Wharton, Fort Bend, Jackson, Matagorda, Brazoria and Galveston County until 4 p.m. Thursday
HOUSTON – Heavy storm activity is moving into and through the Houston area this morning. We have flood watches and a new flood warning on the east side of the San Jacinto River.
Galveston, Chambers County and areas along the coast will see the most impact.
There will be a few cities capable of getting 2″-4″ of rain an hour and that will cause flooding. The focus for Thursday’s storms appears to be from Houston to the coast.
For the first time this week, the Weather Prediction Center has increased our flood threat to a level 3 out of 4 for our coastal cities.
The front will help to concentrate enough heavy rain again along the coast that there could be some areas that get flooding early in the morning, possibly lasting through the afternoon.
