HOUSTON – A man pulled a driver out of their burning car Saturday morning after a major crash.
It happened on SH-99 near the Northcrest exit, when Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said the car caught fire after slamming into a guard rail on the highway’s westbound side.
Sheriff Gonzales also said a good Samaritan pulled the driver out of that burning car, who was then flown to the hospital. The passenger, however, did not survive.
That good Samaritan also went to the hospital for burns on their hands, the sheriff said.
The crash shut down the westbound lanes of SH-99 for a couple of hours.
