HOUSTON Kyle Tucker hit a game-ending homer in the ninth inning, and the Houston Astros beat the Seattle Mariners 3-2 on Sunday for their fourth straight win. Tucker drove a 96-mph fastball from Erik Swanson (0-2) deep to right for his first career game-ending homer. Astros catcher Martn Maldonado, who turned 34 on Sunday, singled in Tucker in the fourth, tying it at 2. UP NEXTMariners: RHP Justin Dunn (1-1, 4.85 ERA) is scheduled to make his fourth start of the year on Monday against the Dodgers. The rookie has allowed just three earned runs in the first 14 1/3 innings of his career.

(AP) Kyle Lewis hit a tiebreaking two-run single in the eighth inning to lift the Seattle Mariners over the Houston Astros 7-6 on Sunday, snapping a 15-game losing streak in the series. The Mariners trailed by 1 entering the eighth before Shed Long Jr.'s run-scoring single tied it at 5 with one out. Seattle went 1-18 against Houston last season and lost the first two games of this season to extend the skid. Yuli Gurriels RBI single got Houston within 4-2. Graveman last pitched on May 11, 2018 and missed the rest of that season and last season recovering from Tommy John surgery.
Verlander gets MLB-best 18th win as Astros down Seattle 2-1
HOUSTON - Justin Verlander pitched seven strong innings to get his MLB-leading 18th win in his first start since throwing his third no-hitter to lead the Houston Astros to a 2-1 victory over the Seattle Mariners on Saturday night. Verlander (18-5) allowed four hits with one run and fanned seven in his 30th start of the season. With the game tied at one, Josh Reddick drove in the go-ahead run with a sacrifice fly in the seventh inning. ... OF Jake Fraley left the game after the second inning with a sore right thumb. Carlos Correa and Aledmys Diaz also homered for Houston, which improved to 10-1 against the Mariners this season. Daniel Vogelbach hit a two-run homer for the Mariners, who lost their second straight after winning their previous six games. Houston got things going when Alvarez sent the second pitch of the second inning into center field for his 13th homer. Miley walked three Mariners early, but didn't allow a hit until Tom Murphy legged out a single on an infield grounder with one out in the fifth.
Gurriel's homer in 10th lifts Astros to 2-1 win over Seattle
Gurriel hit a game-ending home run in the 10th inning after Reddick's tying shot in the eighth, and the Astros beat the Seattle Mariners 2-1. Gurriel hit a 2-2 pitch from Matt Festa (0-2) off the facade in left field for his eighth homer. That snapped a streak of 17 scoreless innings for the Astros. After Matt Carasiti pitched a scoreless first, Tommy Milone threw five scoreless innings, scattering three hits. ... RHP Joe Smith threw one scoreless inning in a rehabilitation assignment at Round Rock on Friday night.
