Houston is prone to mosquitoes but after Hurricane Beryl and the recent rainstorms this week, the insects have been out in swarms.

Fort Bend County Health and Human Services Environmental Health Division’s Mosquito and Vector Control program confirms the first positive West Nile Virus mosquito sample in the county in 2024.
