Bob Dylan sold his entire catalog of more than 600 songs spanning 60 years, making for one of the biggest music publishing deals. Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG) announced Monday the acquisition of Dylanโs catalog including everything from 1962โฒs โBlowinโ In The Windโ to this yearโs โMurder Most Foul,โ the company said in a news release. โTo represent the body of work of one of the greatest songwriters of all time - whose cultural importance canโt be overstated - is both a privilege and a responsibility,โ UMPG Chairman and CEO Jody Gerson said. Reaching audiences all around the world, Dylan has sold more than 125 million records throughout his career. I have no doubt that decades, even centuries from now, the words and music of Bob Dylan will continue to be sung and playedโand cherishedโeverywhere,โ Chairman and CEO of Universal Music Group Sir Lucian Grainge said.

The Nobel Prize-winning songwriter has sold publishing rights to his catalog of more than 600 songs, one of the greatest treasures in popular music, to the Universal Music Publishing Group, it was announced on Monday. Tambourine Man,โ Jimi Hendrixโs reworking of โAll Along the Watchtowerโ and Adeleโs cover of โMake You Feel My Love.โEvents have conspired to make song publishing a more valuable asset. Given the pace of change in the industry, โsongs seem to be the place to place your bets,โ Light said. Dylan's songs, however, will long outlive him.
