The Polk County Sheriff’s Office is temporarily housing inmates at a facility in Beauregard Parish, Louisiana, due to staffing shortages at the Polk County Jail.

Three jailers who work at the Polk County Jail have been arrested, accused of assaulting a 34-year-old inmate from Kingwood inside of the jail.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office says they were made aware on Nov. 11 of the exploitation and physical assault of the disabled inmate by the group of inmates. 14 felony warrants were issued as part of the investigation, which led to the arrest of six individuals, including one who was outside the jail.

Make-A-Wish Iowa says it has an annual budget of $4 million, a staff of 16 employees and is governed by a 17-member volunteer board. The couple has had two daughters who have required brain surgery, and one of them received a trip to Walt Disney World through Make-A-Wish Iowa before Woodley was hired as CEO.
