(CNN) - MTV's Video Music Awards are Monday, but speculation about what to expect from the annual (and always unpredictable) celebration go way beyond which artists will take home the coveted Moon Man statues. Who's hosting the VMAs and how to watchComedian and author Sebastian Maniscalco is this year's master of ceremonies. Missy Elliott, who dropped a surprise album on Friday, will also receive this year's Video Vanguard Award. Missy Elliott's status as a trailblazer will be cemented with a special honor at the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards. The hip-hop legend will receive this year's Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the ceremony on Monday, Aug. 26.
