Houston police officers are on the scene of the deadly shooting at an apartment complex on Westheimer near Kirkwood.

A pickup truck reportedly crashed into a home in southwest Houston on Wednesday.

The City of Houston on Saturday will unveil the Alief Neighborhood Center and Park, a new multipurpose facility situated off Bellaire Boulevard and Kirkwood in southwest Houston that offers the services of the recreation center it replaces, and also functions as a public library, a senior center, and a Women, Infant, and Child Clinic.

HOUSTON – Waiting was the word of the day on the first day of early voting in Harris County. At some Fort Bend County polling locations, technical issues were the problem. The Chasewood Community Center Clubhouse in Missouri City was one of numerous Fort Bend polling spots that had computer issues. George said they will extend voting hours to 7 p.m. through Saturday to accommodate today’s glitches. HOUSTON – Two people were rescued from a fiery crash in west Houston, firefighters said. Firefighters said the accident occurred in the 11600 block of Katy Freeway at Kirkwood at around 4:40 a.m. The crash caused the road to be shut down. Firefighters said two people were trapped in the vehicle that caught fire. Authorities said the victims were transported to a nearby hospital, where they are in unknown condition.
