A Houston man, Deontwon Marquise Perry Jr., has been arrested and charged with misdemeanor animal cruelty months after allegedly abandoning a puppy in a locked trunk in a Channelview field.

Sam Gary Martin, a 65-year-old convicted sex offender and former newspaper publisher, was arrested in High Island by Harris County Precinct 1 deputies on a charge of possessing child pornography.
