A reported shooting on Galveston's west end led police to a home where they found a man bleeding on the porch and saw a suspect flee in a maroon pickup truck, prompting a chase. The pursuit, assisted by state troopers and a DPS helicopter, ended near Jamaica Beach when the suspect crashed and was found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound, later pronounced dead at UTMB. A second victim was located at the residence and transported to the hospital, with their condition undisclosed. Galveston police and Texas Rangers are investigating the incident and the pursuit.

Joshua Warner was taken into custody on two warrants for impersonating a public servant on December 22, 2025. His bond was set at $500,000.

GALVESTON, Texas – Galveston police said a man is on the loose in a string of kidnappings in September in Galveston and the victims' efforts to make a scene helped save them. Police released a digital sketch on Monday of the man investigators say attempted to kidnap four women in a span of five days in late September. Sollenberger said all of the victims say the digital sketch looks like the man who approached them. Police said a man approached a 60-year-old woman on Sept. 20 around 9:10 p.m. near the intersection of 20th street and Strand. The sketch of a man authorities said tried to kidnap women in the Galveston area in September 2020.

HOUSTON – A high-speed chase Friday night ended with the arrest of one person. According to Galveston Police, officers were attempting to make a traffic stop around 6:10 p.m. when the driver, identified as Julie Frances Blow, 58, refused to pull over. Galveston PD said Blow refused to get out of the vehicle, initiating a standoff with officers. Fiedler said she saw Blow driving at a high rate of speed, just minutes before the truck came to a stop. They were just going and going, and smoke is just piling up," she said.
