A suspect broke into an unmarked Galveston County sheriff’s office vehicle in Texas City on May 8, stealing a department-issued .300 Blackout AR-style rifle with a suppressor, a ballistic vest, and a duty belt.

Jarrod Holt, 51, died after a medical emergency at the Galveston County Jail following his arrest on a felony parole board warrant by La Marque police, according to officials.

Galveston County sheriffs and state troopers responded to the incidents, and one suspect has been taken into custody.
