In celebration of Black History Month, we're spotlighting some of Houston's standout Black-owned restaurants that are redefining the city's vibrant food scene.

The largest Black-owned market in Houston will make a return to Buffalo Soldiers National Museum this month with ways to connect to local Black vendors in-person or online.

The company is called “Masterpiece Desserts.” It’s located in the heart of Cy-Fair at Rosehill Beer Garden. “The World’s Most Delicious Cheesecake”“Masterpiece Desserts is home of the world’s most delicious cheesecake,” Winsome Brooks said. So much so, Masterpiece Desserts was nominated and eventually selected to receive a $25,000 award, as part of the Discover “Eat it Forward” program. HOUSTON – Drive-in movie theaters are surging in popularity due to the pandemic. The new drive-in east of downtown Houston is making history. Khairi Sharif, 26, is opening Space City Shows, the first Black-owned drive-in theatre in Houston. Since May, Sharif has been learning about movie licenses, liabilities and screen projectors, turning his dream into a reality. Now, he hopes Space City Shows motivates and inspires Black youth.
