A pedestrian was struck and killed Friday night after entering an active traffic lane on Cullen Boulevard near Bellfort Avenue outside a marked crosswalk; he was taken to Ben Taub Hospital where he later died.

A man was critically injured after being shot by unknown suspects in Southeast Houston near Bellfort Avenue and Jutland Road around 1 a.m. Thursday. The victim, who was traveling northbound on Jutland, sustained a gunshot wound to the stomach and is in critical condition at the hospital.

The shooting happened in the 7600 block of Belfort Avenue just after 7 p.m.

Houston police are at the scene of a fatal shooting in southeast Houston.
