Texans signing long snapper Tucker Addington to reserve-future deal

HOUSTOJN – The Texans are signing veteran long snapper Tucker Addington to a reserve-future deal, per his agent, Robert Sheets.

The deal includes a $10,000 signing bonus.

Texans veteran long snapper Jon Weeks, a former Pro Bowl selection, is a pending unrestricted free agent who has expressed a desire to sign a new deal.

Addington worked out for the Texans and was then signed to the Miami Dolphins, playing in a game against the defending AFC South champions.

Addington played collegiately at Sam Houston State and has also played for the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Commanders.

A New Braunfels native and Canyon High School graduate, Addington earned the starting job at Sam Houston State.

Addington is a former Houston Gamblers supplemental draft selection, appearing in all 10 games for them.

He signed with the Cowboys in 2022 before joining the New England Patriots’ practice squad later this season.

He signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2023, later signing with the Commanders.

He had a second stint with the Patriots last August and later signed with their practice squad. He was subsequently signed by Miami to their practice squad and then the Jacksonville Jaguars in December before being released.
