Azeez Al-Shaair balances playing for Texans with concern for friends & family

HOUSTON – While the Houston Texans are preparing for their Sunday matchup against the New England Patriots, linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair balances preparation and concern for his friends and family who are in the path of Hurricane Milton, not long after dealing with Hurricane Helene in Tampa.

“Just trying to communicate with (friends and family), hoping that they actually got out of there,” said Al-Shaair. “To see the government to say ‘if you stay in the evacuation zone, you’ll die,’ I’ve never seen anything like that ever. I think it spooked a lot of people, myself included, just advising my family in friends in that area to get out of there for sure.”

Al-Shaair grew up in Tampa, and played college football at Florida Atlantic in Boca Raton, Florida.
