Woman shot during home invasion in east Houston

HOUSTON – A home invasion in east Houston ended with a woman being wounded in a shootout between a resident and two gunmen, one of whom also may have been shot.

According to police, the two gunmen tried to enter the home near De Haven and Clinton Park streets near Galena Park. 

During the incident, a female resident was shot in the leg. A male who also is believed to live at the home began shooting back at the intruders, police said.

Police say the shootout ended in the front yard when and the two men fled the scene.

Authorities are now searching for the gunmen, one of which is believed to have been hit during the gunfire, police say.

The incident is under investigation.
