Woman found dead in truck after road rage incident leads to chase, shooting in NW Harris County

HOUSTON – A woman was found dead and four people were taken into custody after a road rage incident led to a chase and officer-involved shooting in northwest Harris County.

The driver of a white F-150 exited I-45 at FM 1960 toward the Rolling Creek area and stopped at the In Town Suites Motel, deputies said.

Deputies tried to order the five people out of the truck. The driver then hit the gas and aimed the vehicle at law enforcement, hitting several of them. A US marshal and a deputy opened fire and the driver took off, investigators said.

The driver stopped a second time in the 15900 block of Kuykendahl Road in the driveway of the Ashford Santa Cruz Apartments and tried to crash through the front gate, deputies said. Law enforcement officials tried once again to order the occupants out, but the driver put the truck in reverse and aimed at officials again, hitting multiple vehicles.

The driver rammed the truck through the apartment gate and fled to the back of the complex where the driver stopped once again, deputies said.

Several people inside the truck got out, four were taken into custody. Investigators found one woman dead inside the vehicle.

It is unclear why the driver would not stop.
