FRIENDSWOOD, Texas – Independence Day ended at a county jail for a suspected drunken woman accused of sending false emergency text to police throughout the night, according to the Friendswood Police Department.
Friendswood officials said Janine Michelle Linton, 37, called 911 from her cellphone around 12:47 a.m. Tuesday from a home in the 800 block of Lexington Drive.

According the dispatcher, a woman yelling and the voice of a small child could be heard in the background.
Police said Linton sent several emergency texts to law enforcement, giving her address and claiming her mother assaulted her with a pair of crutches.
Convinced a domestic disturbance was taking place, officers were sent to the home.
According to officials, Linton was intoxicated when officers arrived. She denied having ever called police and told the officers to leave and get a search warrant.
The officers said they talked with Linton’s mother, who confirmed there was no actual emergency.
As soon as the officers left, Linton started texting FPD again. When officers returned, they took her into custody.
Linton accused the dispatch operator of “ratting her out” and sending the text messages.
Linton was charged with silent or abusive calls 911 and is being held at the Galveston County Jail, authorities said. Her bail is set at $1,000.
