HOUSTON – A boil water advisory was lifted Tuesday for a section of north Houston after crews completed repairs on a water main over the weekend.
The city of Houston's Department of Public Works began work Friday on a large 66-inch water line near Beltway 8 North and Highway 59.

Officials said Monday they do not know of any quality problems with the water in the area, but the advisory was issued until final tests on water samples are complete.
On Tuesday, city officials said the final water samples confirmed there was no contamination and the water meets state drinking water standards.
The advisory includes the area near Will Clayton Parkway east of George Bush Intercontinental Airport and west of U.S. Highway 59, the Eastex Freeway.
Officials said people living in the advisory area should bring their water to a rolling boil for two minutes before consuming it, using it to wash their hands or face or brush their teeth.
