Teen shot during Humble-area home invasion

ATASCOCITA, Texas – A teenager is recovering from a gunshot wound after he was shot during a home invasion in the Humble area.

According to police, the 17-year-old and his brother were at home when they heard a knock at the door around 8:30 p.m. Monday at the Eagle Crest apartment complex near Astascocita Road and Timber Forest.

When the second brother opened the door, several men wearing gloves and ski masks forced their way in at gunpoint and demanded belongings, police said.

Authorities said the suspects fired several times while in the living room, and when they entered the bedroom and found the second brother, they fired at him, hitting the teen in the pelvis.

The men fled the scene after shooting the young man, and it is unclear if they got away with anything, police said.

According to police, the teen is expected to survive.

Officers are still looking for anything that can lead them to finding the suspects.
