The Harris County Pct. 4 Constable’s Office says it happened in the 14400 block of Cypress View Drive.

Officials say after lightning struck the home, the electrical current traveled through the home’s wiring, causing a small fire in the attic and shocking the homeowner’s son while he was using a computer.

The child is being evaluated by EMS. The Cypress Creek Fire Department was called out as well.

“Safety Reminder: During thunderstorms, avoid using corded electronics and stay away from electrical wiring and plumbing, as lightning can travel through a home’s electrical system,” the constable’s office said.

The investigation is still ongoing.
