Teen charged with murder of 64-year-old man in NE Houston No description found
HOUSTON – An 18-year-old man accused of shooting a 64-year-old man to death has been arrested and charged with capital murder and aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon, according to police.
Isaiah Murphy is accused of shooting Gerardo Lopez to death on Feb. 28.
Around 11:20 p.m., police said Lopez was walking on an easement between two residences in the 4700 block of McEwan Street when Murphy approached and shot him.
A neighbor told police he saw Murphy running from the easement towards Cavalcade. When the neighbor approached Murphy in the 300 block of Cavalcade Street, Murphy attempted to steal his vehicle, police said.
Murphy was arrested on March 9.
