HOUSTON – The Westbury High School homecoming football game scheduled for Saturday has been canceled following Friday’s deadly shooting of a senior student near campus.

In a message to families, Principal Adrea Alexander says campus administration is working to reschedule the game and will share updates with families and students once those plans are finalized.
The cancelation comes after Westbury High School senior LePaul Warren was shot and killed just steps from the school campus on Friday.
Warren, a wide receiver and starter on the school’s varsity football team and a shooting guard for varsity basketball, was described by his godfather as a “good kid, very respectful, very polite.”
Witnesses said the shooter was dressed in all black with a ski mask on.
Investigators have interviewed witnesses and are also hoping license plate readers in the area can help them track down the shooter. They also had video from the apartment complex next door to the school.
