HOUSTON – A man died after being stabbed at a Houston apartment complex Wednesday night, and a woman he was in a relationship with was taken into custody, according to Houston police.
Houston Police Department officers responded around 10 p.m. Wednesday to 1520 Oliver Street after receiving reports that two people had been stabbed.
Police and Houston Fire Department crews found a man in his mid-20s in the apartment complex’s parking garage. Investigators said the man had run from an apartment after suffering a stab wound to his shoulder.
Paramedics rushed him to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police said a woman remained inside the apartment after the man ran out. Officers learned she was on the phone with her mother and was expressing thoughts of killing herself.
Officers were able to take the woman into custody without anyone else being hurt. She was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Investigators said the man and woman lived at the apartment and were in a relationship, although police said the man would come and go from the residence.
According to investigators, the woman had been at a bar with a friend while the man was at work earlier Wednesday. Police said both eventually returned to the apartment and began arguing.
HPD said officers had previously responded to the address for domestic violence calls.
Video recorded by a 911 caller using Meta smart glasses captured part of the response. The video shows the witness discovering the injured man, calling 911, Houston firefighters treating him and the witness later speaking with police.
The circumstances surrounding the stabbing remain under investigation. Police have not released the man’s identity or announced what, if any, charges the woman could face.
