Fatal crash closes all southbound SH-288 lanes at Spectrum

All southbound lanes of SH 288 are closed Wednesday morning following a fatal crash just south of the Beltway, the Pearland Police Department said.

The crash involved a single vehicle and a single occupant. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing, and officials said the southbound closure is expected to remain in place for an extended period.

The closure begins north of the Beltway and extends south to Clear Creek.

Drivers should expect substantial delays and are strongly encouraged to find alternate routes while investigators work at the scene.

Northbound SH 288 remains fully open.

Both directions of the SH 288 Toll Road are also unaffected by the crash.
