HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – Deputies with Constable Mark Herman’s Office arrested a man after a reported disturbance on Spring Shadows Drive in the Harvest Bend area of northwest Harris County.
Investigators say the suspect, Oscar Vasquez, ran from the scene before deputies arrived. then was spotted in a nearby bayou. Vasquez took off again, jumping fences in an attempt to escape. Deputies and the Constable Canine Unit caught the man a short time later.

Investigators determined Vasquez allegedly injured a juvenile during the original disturbance. They also say Vasquez has open warrants for criminal mischief and harassment.

“Those who harm children and attempt to flee from law enforcement will be pursued and held accountable,” Constable Mark Herman said in a statement.
Oscar Vasquez was booked into the Harris County Jail on the outstanding warrants and charged with Injury to a Child. His bond is set at $30,000.
