Houston teen fires at deputies responding to Westpark family disturbance, taken into custody

HOUSTON – Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputies were fired upon by a teenage suspect Tuesday evening while responding to a family disturbance call on the west side of Houston.

The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. on July 29, 2026, at a complex located at 14906 Westpark Drive. Deputies were called to the scene in reference to a family disturbance with a weapon involved.

Upon arrival, a male teen — believed to be approximately 17 years old — fired shots at the responding deputies. No deputies were reported injured. The suspect was subsequently taken into custody.

No additional agencies were involved in handling the incident.
