HOUSTON – An investigation is underway after a fight during a funeral at a southeast Houston church led to gunfire Friday morning.
The incident was reported at a church in the 8300 block of Brandon Street.
According to the Houston Police Department, a funeral was taking place when a fight broke out inside the church between two groups. The altercation then spilled into the parking lot, where shots were fired.
One man was shot and taken to a local hospital. His condition has not been released.
No arrests have been made, and police are searching for the shooter.
Police said the funeral was connected to a homicide victim in Katy on June 14.
