Brazoria County Sheriff's Office makes multiple arrests in undercover online solicitation operation

BCSO collaborates with Houston Metro PD to target people trying to solicit minors

Eight suspects were arrested on charges of online solicitation of a minor in Brazoria County following an online chat operation by the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office in June.

The operation was conducted in conjunction with the Houston Metro Police Department Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and was aimed at targeting individuals engaging in online predatory behavior involving minors.

The sheriff’s office arrested the following suspects:

  • Walter Paz-Mata, 34
  • Nathan Vivares, 33
  • Valentin Canales-Mejia, 33
  • Francisco Rios-Estrada, 25
  • Jesus Vega Garcia, 37
  • Jose Herrera-Dominguez, 31
  • Alexis Alberdin Lima, 28
  • Carlos Duenas Moreno, 43

BCSO is actively pursuing six additional arrests pending the issuance of warrants. In addition, Vivares was also charged with soliciting prostitution of a person under 18 years of age.

The sheriff’s office says they remain committed to safeguarding the children of Brazoria County and are aggressively pursuing those who seek to exploit them.
