FBI Houston: Teen visiting for World Cup safely reunited after online enticement case

HOUSTON – A 15-year-old girl from Europe who was in Houston for the World Cup was allegedly persuaded online by an adult to leave Texas and travel to Illinois, according to FBI Houston.

The federal agency said it mobilized specialized investigative teams and technology to help local law enforcement track down the teen and reunite her safely with her family.

The case remains under investigation.

“This is what FBI Houston does every day,” the agency said in a statement. “We rescue the vulnerable, we protect victims, and we bring families back together.”
