HOUSTON – The Black Cowboy Museum has canceled its 2026 Juneteenth Trail Ride, Parade and outdoor activities planned at the Fort Bend County Fairgrounds due to forecasted weather conditions.
In a statement, museum founder and CEO Larry Callies said the decision was made “out of an abundance of caution.”

“The safety of our riders, horses, volunteers, and community remains our highest priority,” Callies said.
While the outdoor festivities have been canceled, the museum said the Juneteenth celebration will continue indoors.
The The Black Cowboy Museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, June 19, with free admission for all visitors.
Guests are invited to explore exhibits highlighting the history and legacy of Black cowboys and their contributions to Texas and American history.
The museum is located at 1104 Third St. in Rosenberg.
Officials thanked the community for its understanding and said they look forward to welcoming visitors for the Juneteenth observance despite the weather-related changes.
