Houston police homicide detectives are investigating after a man was found dead overnight in northwest Houston under what investigators described as suspicious circumstances.
The investigation began after firefighters were called to the area of Chrystelle Lane and Blanton Boulevard following reports of a deceased man.
According to the Houston Police, firefighters arrived at the scene and discovered something suspicious, prompting them to call police to investigate further.
When officers arrived, investigators determined the case should be handled as a homicide investigation.
Detectives with HPD’s Homicide Division spent several hours overnight processing the scene, collecting evidence and documenting the area. Crime scene tape surrounded the property as investigators searched the area with flashlights.
Police have not released the man’s identity, age or how he may have died.
The Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office will work to determine the cause and manner of death.
Investigators say the case remains in the early stages, and no suspect information has been released.
